Handcrafted Calming Tea

Preparation Time: Drying plants=1-3 days, grinding herbs=10 minutes

Infusion Time: 10 minutes

Yield: approximately 6 cups of dried tea

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups dried ground blackberry leaves

  • 2 cups dried ground lemon balm

  • 1/2 cup dried ground lemon grass

  • 1/4 cup dried ground ginger

  • dehydrated lemon peel from 3 fresh lemons

Instructions:

  1. Collect or purchase all fresh herbs, fresh lemon and fresh ginger.

  2. Dry all ingredients in the food dehydrator, and then grind them in the food processor or by hand using mortar and pestle.

  3. Mix all ingredients and store in the airtight glass jar for long keeping.

  4. For the tea infusion preparation: steep 1 tablespoon of herbal tea in 1 cup of just-boiled water 100°C for 10 minutes.

  5. Use a teapot or a cup with a lid. Keep the lid on as the herbs are steeping in order to prevent volatile oils evaporating.

  6. Drink hot or cold.
