Fluid intake is key to optimal hydration. Each day we enjoy drinking many different kinds of beverages. We may or may not think about all the nutrients they contain or how our body processes to keep us well nourished and healthy. Water is the must abundant constituent of the body. Next to oxygen, water is most important to sustain life.
Tips for increasing fluid intake:
Have a beverage at each snack such as water, natural fruit juice, broth, herbal tea or dairy or non-dairy unsweetened milk.
Have a jug of ice water available and near you to sip on throughout the day.
Choose desserts that have more fluids such as fresh fruit, sherbert, sorbet or jello
Keep truck of your daily fluid intake.
Set a reminder on your phone for fluid breaks.
Avoid sugar drinks and instead drink water.
